CAPF Assistant Commandant Recruitment 2021
UPSC Union public service commission released notification for various post and thousands of Vacancies. This time UPSC has released 179 vacancies for CAPF Assistant Commandant. CAPF that is Central Armed Police Force has vacancies for their different divisions. Applications start from 12-04-2021 and last date to apply is 5-5-2021. So if you want to work with Indian armed forces it is good opportunity.
CAPF Assistant Commandant
CAPF central armed police forces comes under ministry of home affairs. It is not directly connected to Indian Army. In fact it comes under IPS Indian Police Services.
There are 5 different divisions of CAPF. And 179 vacancies for CAPF Assistant Commandant are divided into these branches as follows :
BSF(border security forces) 28
CRPF(central reserved police force) 65
CISF(central industrial security force) 23
SSB(sashastra seema bal) 63
Eligibility criteria for CAPF Assistant Commandant
Age –
20-25 (on 1 Augast 2021). Age relaxation for Obc 3 years and SC/ST 5 years.
Educational Qualification
Candidate must be graduate from any government recognized Institute.
CAPF Assistant Commandant selection procedure and exam pattern
- Written Test – Paper I & Paper II
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Medical Standards Test
- Personal Interview
Written Test :
Paper 1 – objective paper for 250 marks on general ability and intelligence
Paper 2 – General Studies and essay for 200 marks.
Candidates shortlisted based on written exam will be called for physical efficiency test.
And after that candidates will be selected through interview.

How to Prepare For CAPF Assistant Commandant
For general intelligence there will be questions related to logical Reasoning and quantitative Aptitude
Quantitative Aptitude by r s aggarwal is best book for competitive exam
Verbal and nonverbal Reasoning by rs aggarwal is also best book.
For General studies prefer upsc preliminary preparation books for history, polity, geography etc.
